Youth In Revolt stars Portia Doubleday and Michael Cera sat down with MuchMore’s Matt Wells at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.

Cera challenged himself by playing an awkward teenager with a bad boy alter-ego in the film.

Matt brought up the music in the film’s soundtrack, but Michael Cera was clearly not into it.

Matt: You give love a bad name by Bon Jovi is in the trailer. To a lot of people, that song, they go through stages. When it first came out it was like “yes, Bon Jovi, man!” And then it kinda got cheesy, so I’m wondering in your heads when you hear “You Give Love A Bad Name,” where does it sit with you in your musical pallettes?

Michael Cera: Great. I love all Bon Jovi.
Portia Doubleday: Yeah, I love that song.
Michael Cera: I don’t think he ever went uncool.
Portia Doubleday: Heh. I always only know tunes. I never know the words… it’s often listening to radio stations, I can never understand what they’re saying. It’s seems so mumble jumble so I just make up my own.

Matt: Okay, Let’s make up your own. “Shot through the heart, and you’re…”
Portia Doubleday: (Singing) And you’re so great!
Matt: You give love…
Michael Cera: A bad name.

Ahahah.

Youth In Revolt opens on January 15th, 2010 .
