I’m gonna make a bold statement: Mike Posner has taken over the music mic that Justin Timberlake laid down years ago when he stopped making albums and started making movies. There. I’ve said it. Posner hasn’t had the kind of success JT experienced and probably never will. With his history as a member of N’Sync, a blockbuster film career, fixture as a pop culture icon and amazing talent, JT is an artist that’s hard to touch. But Mike Posner released a solid debut album that spawned a huge hit and most likely hasn’t been given the recognition he deserves. His moves, looks and ‘swag’ (sorry to be the billionth person to use that term today) are reminiscent of Timberlake. He sings about love, heartbreak and sex in a high octave. JT, anyone? And while his latest single, Looks Like Sex, probably isn’t going to land him a hosting gig on SNL, it’s enough to make me compare Posner to one of the greatest artists of the 21st Century. So ya. It’s pretty good.

From the track to the graphics and visuals, Posner’s video for Looks Like Sex is a slick and futuristic vid that doesn’t cross into the over-the-top What’s It Gonna Be type look a la Janet Jackson and Busta Rhymes (sorry Miss Jackson – ooooo!).
