Miley, Charlie and more!
January 30th, 2014
Miley Cyrus joined artists such as Bob Dylan, Nirvana and Florence and the Machine last night when her MTV Unplugged session aired on TV. This special presentation found Cyrus performing in an intimate room — a barn, to be specific — to a small group of adoring fans.
As always, the pop star, who put out her album Bangerz last year, took things to a whole other level by creating a country vibe complete with stacks of hay, lots of cowboy hats and even two people dressed in a horse costume. And yes, Miley twerked on the horse. At least it’s not bears, right?
Of course, we were obsessed with Cyrus’ choice of attire. From her promo pics for this special to the two outfits she sported onstage, we’ve decided to break down all of her style inspirations.
For starters, the promo photos for this TV special definitely reminded us of another Dope pop star…
Her first look is a no brainer, a nod to her godmother Dolly Parton.
But also, an ode to picnic tables.
Her second look is a little more complicated, BUT we’re pretty sure we’ve nailed the inspiration.
The outfit sports a few more sequins than Sisqo’s dated look, though. But fear not, we figured that one out, too.
But then Madonna came onstage and did a mash-up of her 2000 hit Don’t Tell Me and Cyrus’ We Can’t Stop and we most definitely realized the obvious influence — a little bit of column A…
And a splash of column B. Perfect.
