MIOBI Ep. 12: Return of the Marty

October 13th, 2010

Payson looks like she’ll never do gymnastics again, Lauren told Kaylie that she slept with Carter and Emily told Damon her true feelings! There’s more flip flops off the mats than on them! Find out what went down on episode 12 right after the jump! Get caught up with the last MIOBI recap here!

It’s the day of the big announcement to find out who the National Committee has chosen as the team coach. The announcement is happening at The Rock, making everyone think that Sasha is going to be the clear choice. Unfortunately, it’s Marty. He’s back, y’all.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Emily showed up to the announcement without her team jacket after her mom dyed it pink. They don’t have enough money to replace the jacket and Emily doesn’t want anyone to know how tight their money situation has become. To make matters even worse, one of the committee members approached Emily and told her that she needs to get her math grade up to a B or else she’s off the team. Chloe, always helpful, tells the committee member that Emily won’t get a B, she’ll get an A! Thanks mom.

Chloe comes up with another great idea (not). She’s asked Razer to be Emily’s tutor for algebra. Greattttt…

The girls want to come up with a plan to get rid of Marty and agree to meet at the Pizza Shack later that day while Emily is working so that they can discuss their take down plans. Before the girls get to the restaurant Emily finally tells Razor that she’s a member of The Rock. How did she manage to go this long without telling him?

The girls finally come to a decision that they will try to look bad at practice the next day in front of the National Committee to show that Marty is a bad coach. Back at home that night Kaylie’s dad tells her that he wants to dig up some dirt on Marty that will get him fired as her coach. Kaylie knows that if her dad goes looking, he’ll find out that Kaylie’s mom had an affair with Marty. She picks a fight with her dad and tells him to stop acting like her manager, hoping this will cause him to decide against going through Marty’s past.

The next day the girls put their Marty OUT plan into action and tell other girls on the team lies about Marty. Sasha, who has been observing practice all day, sees what the girls are doing and pulls Kaylie aside and tells her to put a stop to their plan.

Carter, now back at The Rock, walks Lauren out to her car after practice. Lauren tells Carter that Kaylie is over him and that she’s moved on, hoping that this will make Carter want to be with Lauren. With perfect timing, Kaylie calls at that exact moment and asks Carter to meet her.

Kaylie is at the end of her rope. She hates her old/new coach, she has to keep her mother’s secret and she isn’t with Carter anymore because he cheated on her with Lauren. She’s finally the National Champion and her life is the worst it’s ever been. Carter tells Kaylie that he still loves her and Kaylie jumps on Carter (literally), all ready to lose her virginity to him, just like Lauren. Eek.

Carter tells Kaylie that her first time should be special, angering Kaylie and resulting in her throwing him out of her car. Peace out, C dawg.

Sasha, Marty and Payson’s mom are all encouraging her to become a coach now that she can no longer be a gymnast. Payson refuses, saying that coaching would feel like she was admitting that gymnastics was really over. Marty picks the top six girls to compete at the meet in London in two weeks and Kaylie, Lauren and Emily are all left out! Their plan has backfired and resulted in them missing out on the competition and possibly losing their spots on the National team.

Kaylie decides that it’s time to get her dad involved and is preparing to tell him about Marty’s affair with Kaylie’s mom. She backs out at the last minute, deciding that her dad’s happiness is more important.

Now that she’s been chosen to go to London over Kaylie, mean girl Kelly is in full biotch mode, even towards Payson! She tells Payson that Sasha would have never become coach of the National Committee because everyone watched him let his star gymnast (Payson) get hurt. Shocked, Payson confronts Sasha about Kelly’s theory and he agrees with the mean girl. He also tells Payson about a former gymnast he coached who died after Sasha didn’t insist she get a head injury checked out. Heavy.

Between her team jacket and asking Razer to tutor her, Emily is fed up with her mom. While Kelly is supervising Emily as she takes her algebra test, Emily tells Kelly that her mother has always made gymnastics hard and never been supportive. Surprised, Kelly pulls out Emily’s file, which is full of letters from Chloe asking that a coach from The Rock check out Emily at the YMCA and recruit her. Aw geez, gonna cry.

Will Payson become a coach at The Rock? Will Lauren find out that Carter and Kaylie kissed? Will Emily be able to keep her grades up and stay on the National team? Will Marty be able to coach the girls to another championship? Find out on the next episode of Make It or Break It every Wednesday night at 8pm ET. Click here for all your MIOBI news!
