MMVA07 Diary: Billy Talent

June 17th, 2007

Hello everyone, this is Aaron of Billy Talent! So we’ve all just arrived at MuchMusic headquarters for the MMVAs. Getting here was a bit of a challange but we made it! We just got off of a 16 day tour that took us to 10 different countries. We played with some unbelievable bands over the past few weeks: Muse, Linkin Park, Velvet Revolver, My Chemical Romance, Smashing Pumpkins, Iron Maiden, Incubus, and Mastodon are just a few.

Now we get to play in our amazing city and hang out with our friends in Alexisonfire. Their dressing room is across from ours and for some strange reason a giant rocket is set up in the middle of it.

We gotta go do soundcheck now! After that we will kidnap Claire from Lost (Emilie de Ravin) and find out how it ends.

Devon will then shave my head for the red carpet.

Gotta go!

  2. OMG ahh you guys are one of my favourite bands ever, and i went to your concert at the ACC in february:) it was amazing! and my first concert and it was so beautiful:)

    i hope you win everything even if your not nominated:)

  4. also, at the concert, there were very odd people, behind/infront of my friends and me. It was very entertaining, but you guys were a million and ten times better than anti flag and moneen, and rise against, even though rise against was OK, still. also, i would like to say that my favourite songs are Prisoners of Today and Navy Song. also, my friend that was at the concert with me, thinks im weird for posting these lovely messages, but you know wat you guys are the only real band left from all the now-a-days music, becuz rock has gone so downhill, except with you guys:)

  9. I was a kid in the ’70s, listening to punk as it came across the water. I enjoy a lot of the new pop-punkers - in terms of sheer musicianship they have brought the genre forward a lot. However, there is only one punk band I have gone to see live this decade - only one that gives me the same raw chill I felt when first spinning Never Mind the Bollocks. Keep it real, guys - you actually are carrying the flag.
