The MMVAs are slowly approaching…wait, did i say slowly? I meant at a freight train speed…downhill.

The idea of what to wear every year hangs over the collective heads of the VJs not completely unlike some sort of medieval torture device. Sarah Taylor recently punctuated her fashion mistakes…now why don’t we explore my own wardrobe related exploits?

Contrary to popular belief, for me, trying to be fashionable is also not completely unlike medieval torture…OK perhaps more like a bad weatherman at a cable access channel in Malone, New York: Sometimes you get it right…and sometimes you get it WRONG. My MMVA “batting average” is sitting at about .500. By this, I mean I’m averaging about 50/50 for outfits. Some I’m incredibly proud of, others…..well let’s just say I’m less than enthused. Here are a few examples.

2005 MMVAs

1. My favourite outfit to date! (other than this year’s, of course): pink blazer, white jeans. I still love it. Who was wearing white jeans 4 years ago? Not YOU! OK, maybe the jeans could be less tight…but hey…I was young, and naive. Did I mention I was a CHILD?

2007 MMVAs

2. Last year’s suit. Made by my friends at Hoax Couture, modeled after the Dior Homme 06 Fall campaign. Black satin suit, looks great, but it’s too small for me now. Damn you triathlon training BODY MASS INDEX!!

2006 MMVAs

3. By far the most misguided outfit I’ve ever worn. White blazer…OK. Tight black jeans with a red stripe…(NOT OK) I actually feel bad for the former me. Who is this sad little person? Who the hell does he think he is? He LOOKS RIDICULOUS. I’ll let him know – I look at him in the mirror every day.

Well, cross your fingers for me this year, my internet friends. I’ll try not to disappoint you…or Rihanna.
