MMVA08: Director Profile – Dave Pawsey

Dave Pawsey has been nominated for Best Director for his work on Sam Roberts’ music video “Them Kids”. Dave thought it would be a cool idea to incorporate an element from the computer game Sims, so he created the video showing humans expressing their emotions through thought bubbles of emoticons. The idea behind seeing Sam Roberts at different life stages was to get the message of the song across without sounding ‘preachy’ to the audience. And let’s be honest, nothing says ‘Them Kids’ better than a really old man with an opinion.
