MMVA08: c’est fini. Il es kaputo. Je ne souviens the french speak. And judging by the hour break I just took after writing that poor excuse for an intro, I am still recovering. And judging by the 7 minute break I just took after THAT sentence, I need more sleep.
Rain! Lightning! Famouser people than you! RAIN! Ziplines! Collabos! Fierceness combined with rain! You get it. Last night’s festivities made me feel special inside (plus a stiff neck and internal freezing due to rain soakage), and hopefully it gave you warm fuzzies too (but not the soreness and soakage .. unless you were here, in which case you definitely got drenched. On behalf of the weather, I apologize).

To highlight some of the best (or worst) MMVA mo’s, here are my impromptu awards:
Best Villain - the rain. For serious. Who cares about the paltry lightning, the rain during the red carpet was like nothing I’ve ever felt before. Grape size!!

Weirdest, Yet Oddly Enjoyable Collabo - Simple Plan rocking out the end of Flo Rida’s “Low” performance. Holla at Flo for flying onto the stage with a zipline, too.
The Right Stuff Award - NKOTB, for pulling out the “Right Stuff” dance. How amazing would it have been if they did the “Step By Step” upsy downsy stair dance?

Sauciest Cheeky Monkeys - Girlicious. Too bad the audio was wack - their choreography was tight.
Best Dance Moves - Melanie C’s running man when she presented an award. Anybody who does that in heels deserves some props. Especially when the “anybody” is somebody who spent 7 years in sneakers.
Too Bad You Missed Rehearsal - Akon. When your chorus starts, mic goes to mouth.
Unexpectedly Cutest - Brody Jenner. I never saw it before. Honourable Mention: Joey Joe McIntyre (I was always a Donnie chick)

Anyway, today is Day One in the approximately 364 day countdown til next year. But we’ve got a few little awesome-filled fun bites to keep you entertained for now (ahem):
* Watch the whole show from front to back and back to front and side to side. It’s like a dance, but with less moving. Kind of like the Rockaway (lean back, lean back).
* That includes the torrential downpour red carpet show, btw.
* That also includes a couple clips from the rambunctious and awesome Aftermath show.
* And then you should look at our photos. We worked hard in the rain with anvils on our back.
* And - oh yeah - this is an awards show??? Hehe. Check out the list of all the winners.

great recap! riiiiiight…what happened with akon? why couldnt he just sing his damn part. does he usually lipsych on all his guest spots or just during that song?
I’d like to thank the weather for ruining my brand new neon orange Nike Air Force 1’s.
Then again I guess I was stupid enough to wear them in the first place.
Thank you for writing about the rain. I tried to explain to people why I couldn’t stay at the MMVA’S. Well when I go get my tonsils removed this week they’ll understand.
Want to fill us in on the drama with Rainn Wilson?
Can girlicious be any more T&A
There was drama with Rainn Wilson??? It was really unfortunate I didn’t get a chance to meet him like I was hoping too. A girl told me that not that many people even knew who he was, which to me is heartbreaking…. he’s freakin’ Dwight Schrute everybody!!!
Well, according to Perez Hilton there was..aparently he didn’t want to introduce Jabba Wokeeze or something. And some drama with NKOTB. And Perez just posted earlier today that there was punching goin on.
LMAO Simple plan saved flo rida’s @ss.
He sucked so bad, i think people were even booing him! for me that was the best part of the mmva’s
i’ve been trying to write on this website but it doesn’t work!! UGHH!!!
anyways…DONNIE kissed me!! I’m soo pissed the camara was soo slow they didn’t show it on tv! and i couldn’t take a pic cuz my camara wasn’t working!!
AGREED about simple plan and flo rida. he was definitely singing/rapping over a track. he sounded a lot worse during soundcheck. but i loved when simple plan came in.
hey this alyssa wow girly’s have fun with the next song
i didnt get to watch the whole thing , but its been re-playing for a couple days , so i think i’ve seen everything i wanted to. OMG(osh) , everyone that preformed did so good! Girlicious was awesome , it was there first performance and they killed it! . Rihanna did amazing as usual! .. yes her outfit was a little weird, but she pulled it off. well the MMVA’s overall was awesome! … cant wait ’till next year!
If Much music gets this, I was thinking awards for like, best dressed, most talented, a “been here for years” (whoever has been creating music for the longest)and best performance of the night.
Hye! Gurly’s! What Sup? love your performance that you 4 did ( Like Me ) fantasic! I hope you 4 are doing more performance this year on or next year or so… so on this a Alyssa good bye and out =D
Dear MuchMusic,
I have been waiting for this moment just like every other show ya’ll have. I can’t wait, it’s all of been thinkin bout.
I wish I could be there to see it live, up close and personal.
P.S. I really hope that Britney Spears does get to perform for the opening ceremonies.
She deserves a second chance to redeem herself. I believe in ya girl. Stun’em!!!
Best of luck to all of the nominees. xoxo
