The MMVAs are the one time a year any VJ can expect old sponsors and friends to crawl out of the woodwork looking for wristbands to check out the show or get into the after parties…although you can never really make anyone happy, they always need just one more or want VIP…but I guess human nature is to always want more, thank god for the buffet. Although gluttony is one of the seven deadly sins. Temptation…damn!

Anyway, the response to the JabbaWockeeZ this year has been overwhelming, to be honest. I was actually thrown back by how many people have made seeing them first priority above any other performer. And it’s a nice changeup that we’ve never really had before.

Every year I find myself in the same position: excited for the show, unsure of what I’m going to wear, and dreading the 10am call time the next morning. I mean c’mon! 10am after our biggest night of the year! Every Monday after the MMVAs we have not only our longest MOD of the year, 90 minutes, but also numerous guests from the award show on MOD.

I guess the good thing is we’re all in the same boat. Which brings me to the afterparties. It’s crazy how many afterparties there are this year - it seems like every performer and presenter is having some sort of afterparty, which is always I vibe killer because people are never content where they are, always think they’re missing out, and bounce around are all night looking for a better party. My advice is, don’t chase…set up shop and enjoy the people you’re with! Personally I’m going to Ultra!

If you’re coming down to Queen Street to check out the awards and an afterparty, wear some comfortable shoes. It will be a long night and ladies, the heels just aren’t worth it!
