Quick! List some annual milestones. Ok, hm.. (I SAID QUICK!) … New Years hangover! Mid April chocolate meltdown! First dandelion head popped off!! Biggest canonball at the pool! Alright, I’m bored of this. The correct and only answer is MMVA NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED. Duh.

Today we find out who will be up for this year’s coveted hardware, and your favourite guys just may have topped the list, Caitlin B. from Regina. What I mean is that Hedley leads the pack with a whopping six nominations (come on! There are like 7.5 awards the whole night!) including Best Video and People’s Choice Favourite Canadian Group. I call one to one odds for rabblerousery on their part. And then there’s Belleh, as in “get in mah belleh!” as in Belly the rapper, who comes in with five high fives, including Best Rap Video. The dudes from illScarlett scored 5 nominations as well, and Simple Plan ran away with three, but nobody has four nominations so I can’t make a lame Feist “1 2 3 4″ joke. Oh, and Feist has two nominations, just like City and Colour, Kanye, Sam Roberts, Bedouin Soundclash and MORE.

To rehash, the MMVA nominees were announced today and you can check ‘em all out this very second by making a left hand turn, walking 6 paces and ending up HERE. What you say?

ETA: Yes, I spelled “Announce” as “Annoonce” on purpose! That is how I say it in my head, and that is how I shall spell it. So there!
