Seriously dudes, chickas. The questions about how to get ‘tickets’ to the 2008 MMVAs stop here and now! Cause getting into the MMVAs is super simple! Four ways, with more to come! Yeesh.
The Old-Fashioned Way: Get In Line: Wake-up call? If you can crawl out of bed early just one Saturday in your life, make it June 7 @ 8am ET. Head to Much HQ (that’s 299 Queen Street West, folks) and join the ranks of wristband hopefuls waiting in line. Bring a canned food item (for the Daily Bread Food Bank) and your photo ID (you must be 14 or older!), and prepare your wrist for a week’s worth of wear until the big night!

I just stood in line this morning at 9:45 am sharp. I have gone to the MMVA’S since 1993 and today was almost in at the Muchmusic front,then told they were sold out!
Now seriously everyone,I know for a fact that is a load of bullsh*t!! Muchmusic advertised to everyone that they had thousands of wristbands for all areas available! Also I have seen the security people and Muchmusic staff hand out over 3 huge boxes of coloured wristbands on the MMVA night. I think it’s just a tactic by the security and Muchmusic to hype this yearly event and piss all the other people off who didn’t get a wristband today, like myself. Muchmusic should be ashamed of themselves for today’s “piss poor”lack of organization when there wasn’t even 1000 people in line today! Pathetic!!!

ok im 13 and i managed to get a wristband from a friend who isnt going. does anyone know if i am still able to go? like do they check ur id on the day of the mmvas or no?

I GOT MY WRISTBAND!!! I HAD TO WAIT IN LINE FOR 6 HOURS STRAIGHT WITHOUT A BATHROOM BREAK BUT IT WAS SOO WORTH IT!!

P.S. Student cards don’t work. Neither do TTC CARDS. They won’t accept it. Bring your CANADIAN passport and your CANADIAN healthcard. It’s good to have 2 forms of PHOTO I.D. Keep that in mind for next year =D.

I’m right pissed! I didn’t get a wristband they were all gone. I waited from 8am until 1:30. Last year the line up was just as big and i got a wristband..Someone could have told us there wouldn’t be enough instead they let us sit in line for no reason. I wasted alot of money to get up to Toronto ): On the show day i bet you a whole shit load of wristbands are going to be giving out to people on the streets.

I was in line from 6AM….they advertised that they would start giving out wristbands at 8AM. BS! I didn’t get my wristband until 12:30!!! 6 hours later!!!!!!!!!!!!! Listen MUCH MUSIC, you need to be a little more efficient with the way you distribute wristbands. Ten at a time, when you have a huge line up isn’t the smartest way to go. IN ADDITION, if you SAY 8AM…you better START at 8AM, especially when you were ENCOURAGING people to stay over night and blog it. That’s just plain wrong. HEAT STROKE, ASTHMA, DEHYDRATION…did you ever consider that?

I STOOD IN LINE FOR OVER FIVE HOURS AND RIGHT WHEN I GOT TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE THEY SAID THEY HAD NO MORE WRISTBANDS!!!

i got in line friday nite at 9:30pm and the line up was around the corner at that time and wrapped it’s way around the entire building over nite and ppl kept coming.. so at 9:45am on saturday, u would have been shit out of luck!! enjoyed my nite on the streets of T.O. and to all those ppl who waited and couldn’t get wraist bands, so very sorry.. to the first two little girls in the front of the line, who waited since thursday nite, my heart goes out to u!!

i was very upset since i liked up at like 6:50 in the morning and i waited in that 6.5 hour line up …then when almost at the door …told no more wrist bands …that is soo not fair i travled for hours brought like 10 cans of food my ID and everything waited in line and then get nothing this iss soo not fair at all…telling ppl that there will be enough wristband then say oh we are counting how many we have and then ..15 min later after not letting any one in saying oh we are all out….how can yu do this to us…do yu know how early ppl who stood in the line woke up and travled and then get nothing…i am very disapointed and quite upset

kelly quit ur fucking whinning, i stood in line from 6:45-12something to get a wristband, some ppl camped out so dun go complaing that u didn’t get 1, there were at least 1000 ppl in line when i got there, my sis waited in line for 5-6hrs wit me and didn’t get 1 cause they changed the rules last min and said u NEED photo id, asshole
and they told us that if u don’t show up by 8:15 mmva night they give out wristbands to ppl near the red carpet to fill the space dumbass

I was there before 7am but the line up was so long. I waited 6hours to get my wrist band for the john stage.

same I stood in line at 7:50ish and I was really close to the door when they said there was no more wristbands. Everyone waited so long like frighen 6 hours. Shouldnt they have an estimate on how much people were there and tell the people that wouldnt get a wristband straight up instead of making them wait for 6 hours and then say theres no more wristband!

So I read to get a wristband i had to get in line on Sat, June 7…. it’s now the 8th! is there still a way to get a wristband? maybe during the week, without any of the contests, i read it may be sold out, i hope not..
if I just show up to the MMVA’s with no wristband will it still be worthwile?

um to kelly, there definitely was 1000 people, if not more there yesterday. i got there at 7:00 and i still managed to get a green wristband because those were the only ones left by the time they had gone through all of the other people. maybe you shouldve got there by 8 like they said and you wouldve got one too. they told us that they would for sure be handing out extra wristbands at the show next weekend like they do every year though, so maybe go and try to get one then.
also, i really wish that i knew who was presenting at what stage

Yah i know how you feel i am 15 s s old and wiated in line with my mom 4 two o days we came from sarina ont and we wer efirst in line we got to the line and they told us to leave beacuse we diddnt have photo idea i brought my birth certifacte and they said they didnt have time for me so we had too drive home thre hours empty handed and i cried liek the whole way cuz i wnated to go soooooo badley

GOT MINE! i waited since 6:45- 12:30 and i got mine
so for the person that said they got there at 6:45 and they were sold out, thats a lie because i got there at that time and they still had plenty left.and to Alanna: you can still go to the red carpet and watch from the street. and they also told us to be in our areas by 8:15 because if it looks a bit empty by that time they will start giving out wristbands to people waiting on the street

to everyone who says that they got there at 8am on saturday and didn’t get a wraistband.. next year camp out cuz by 2am on saturday morning there were over 2000 ppl, and they kept coming.. by 8am the front of the line and the back met up.. i’ll be camping out every year.. i got there at 9:30 pm on friday nite and had my wraistband by 9:30 am on sat.. HEADLEY ROCKS!!

Hey, tracey , my friend margo & I were the 2 girls at the front! lol , thanks.
My friend and her mom and I drove down there on thursday night all the way from sarnia, took up about 3 1/2 hours to get down there. We stayed over on Thursday night and woke up the next morning and at 10am we went and got a spot in line. We were first! yay! We waited all day and all night long, for 2 days, up all night having to listen to the drunks and druggies walking down the street, the people come out and let us in the buliding. Then we found out we need PHOTO ID!! Margo is 15 and I’m 14 , how are we supposed to have photo id when you can only get it when your 16? We had our birth certificates and our health cards, but it was no use, that snob tracey told us she had no time for us and we had to leave. Margo was bawling her eyes out when we left, and im FOR SURELY sending tracey a letter or email or something.

I am the mother of one of the girls who arrived in TO on thurs night and were first in line….48 hours her and her friend and mother waited. They travelled 3 hours and spent alot of money on parking and food for the 2 days. However were unable to get wristbands due to no photo ID. They had birth certificates and health cards…….what 14 and 15 year old has photo I.D. In Ontario at the age they do not have photo on their health cards and do not drive……A passport cost eighty dollars and takes time to come in. The high school in our town does give out picture student cards. How dissapointing for these girls who tented for 2 nights in TO and sat in the heat for 2 days. Also the girl at the door was very rude to them…..how heartless can soem people be….I hope she never has to see her children crushed and dissapointed. LOL, myself and my cousins arived at 3:30 am and the line was already wraped around the block, we didin’t get our wristbands till about 10:30am. for as long, tiring, and dirty it was it was worth it.
yes you can still go if you don’t have a wristband you just can’t get into the blocked stages, you will have to be standing around the red carpet untill they open up that area, then find a place as fast as you can on the street and what not around either the queen street stage or the john street stage.
you can still see the performers and presenters by where you are or on one of the two big screens on either stage displaying what is happening at the other stage so you don’t miss out!

kaay for all the people complaining about how 14 year olds can’t possibly get photo ID .. bull shit , i am 14 .. not in high school , so i don’t have a student card . and i have photo ID . so stop complaining , it’s worthless . and it CLEARLY states that you need PHOTO ID ! bus cards and student ID cards DO work , because i had a bus card and it worked fine . AND TO EVERYONE WHO SAID THEY GOT THERE AT 6-9 AM AND DIDN’T GET A WRISTBAND ! THAT’S YOUR OWN FAULT ! MAYBE NEXT TIME YOU SHOULD CAMP OUT OR COME EARLIER ! no one feels any sympathy for you that you had to wait like 6 hours . i waited in line for 12 hours , and i got a wristband . so maybe everyone should get there earlier . and to kelly .. there was WELL OVER 2000 people by the morning time . much music did not do a poor organization or all the other shit you said , they did great . maybe you should just get there earlier . i mean the doors opened at 8 AM! so why the hell would you get there at 9:45 am ? that doesn’t make ANY sense to me .

ps. why would you drive 2 hours without photo id when it clearly states everywehre it has to have a PHOTO. if you are gunna drive that long you should at least do a little research.

no ones complaining about coming at 6-9am and not getting a wristbands. Someone should have told people before they weren’t going to get a wristband instead of waiting until 2pm. Its kinda funny once the wristbands were gone some prissy/club chicks from the back of the line got to get some. I see this happen every year. Thats what i’m pissed about…Watch out for the same thing to happen for those who are going to be lining up the day of the show!

-Since i will watch from the street, is it a good idea to come by or is going to be to far and the sound will suck?

For all those ppl who say they didnt get wrist bands and they showed up at like 6 thats odd because me and my friends showed up at 6am and got wirstband by 12….and for everyone who is all mad because they waited and didnt bring photo ID thats your own fault!!
it clearly says up at the top of this page you NEED photo ID and if you didnt do your research before going then thats no one fault but your own…if the people at much were rude…i dont blame them!!! they stood there all morning dealing with annoying loud people!!! and all they where trying to do was their job!!! You cant complain if you didnt get there early enough to get a wristband!!! especially if u didnt show up till 7 8 or even 9!!! when there were people waiting in line for hours and hours before!!!
To all those muchmusic people and to all the security people who got up early or were there all night and who dedicated their time on saturday i THANK YOU cuz without you guys no one would have gotten their wristbands!!!
