Seriously dudes, chickas. The questions about how to get ‘tickets’ to the 2008 MMVAs stop here and now! Cause getting into the MMVAs is super simple! Four ways, with more to come! Yeesh.
The Old-Fashioned Way: Get In Line: Wake-up call? If you can crawl out of bed early just one Saturday in your life, make it June 7 @ 8am ET. Head to Much HQ (that’s 299 Queen Street West, folks) and join the ranks of wristband hopefuls waiting in line. Bring a canned food item (for the Daily Bread Food Bank) and your photo ID (you must be 14 or older!), and prepare your wrist for a week’s worth of wear until the big night!

If you’re 13!!! You cannot get a wristband. But you can stand in the street outside of the pit areas!

OK seriously - is anyone READING THE ACTUAL POST BEFORE ASKING STUPID QUESTIONS?
@Kate: No you can’t put a wristband on hold. You have to line up just like the rest of the country folk. You’re not royalty. No special privileges.
@Michael: One wristband for person. If you want a wristband, you have to come and get it yourself. The wristband will be affixed to your wrist that day, so you can’t take one for your friend or have your friend take one for you.
@Michael: You don’t need a wristband to attend (you can watch from the street - they close down all of Queen), but you need a wristband to get into both pits - Queen Street and John Street stages.

- If there are more people than available wristbands, then not everyone will get one.

so I can’t get a wristband for my firend who works untill 12pm, even if I bring his ID ??? if I can’t, can you go later in the day to get one ??

@Nicholas: Correct. You can’t get a wristband for your friend. One wristband per person, and the person must be present, waiting in line just like everyone else

i wanna wait in line to get a wrist band and so you have to be 14 years and older right ? what if your 13 but your turning 14 this year [2008] because your birthday is late in the year like if it were in december ? does that count as 14 ?

I think its funny cause im taking a 305am greyhound bus to get to much music, then standing in line, hoping my life that I get one then going back home. lol. So even though the wristbands are free, technically my trip will cost 46 dollars so thatll be my expense only. which is pretty sweet.
I hope that the people who dont think they can come, end the end get to go, cause its definitely a one in a lifetime experience..

I am pretty sure you have to be 14 at the time you present your I.D. Since you’re not 14 yet, it probably doesn’t count. You wouldn’t be able to buy a lottery ticket until the date of your 18th birthday, so why make it any different? I don’t know if they’d make an exception but that’s my view on it.

ok I am 14 already as of febuary but i dont have photo id or any kind of school ID. I am in GRade 8 and all i have is my health card and a bunch of other cards tht have my name on it. Can I still get in?

hi i’m 14 and i’ve been reading all the comments about the photo id. is the photo really necessary? i have my birth certificate and my health card as birth proof. and i don’t have a passport seeing as im only 14. I’ll be with my sister and cousin who share the last name and they are both over 18. besides how many 14 year olds actually have photo id? i don’t think that’s fare.

@ Jake, you need a photo with your name on, like a passport, maybe you could bring your mom or somethin and she could tell them that you are her kid. you mom or dad could show them a photo of there driver lisences and your birth certifate and just tell them that you are related, maybe that will work, maybe.
@Marisol bring your student ID with a photo of you and bring your birth certifate for your age.then you should be able to get a wrist band.

Im suggesting to everyone to line up at least 6 hours before to garuntee yourself a wristband.. but than again things like this you can’t judge… think boxing day..

i am coming in th e the 7th to wait in line and get a wrist band but my one friend will be out of the country on the 7th and my other friend will be out of the country until the 12th and they both really want to coem to the mmva’s is there any other day that they could get a wrist band or would i be able to get them a wrist band when i come in on the 7th

What if I only want to be behind the fence for the Red Carpet Arrivals (since I know that I can’t be at the live show) & I’m turning 14 this November? Do I still need to get a wristband to be there and am I legal to be there?

Me and my friends would love to come to the MMVAS but we live in london ont and were only 14 and it is very hard to get to toronto to get wristbands, and there wasn’t a radio station for london on there.. We would honestly love to see the show..

@ccc & Anne: No you don’t need a wristband for the red carpet. Only for the enclosed stage areas (John Street & Queen Street stages). The red carpet is part of the public space on Queen Street so you can just crowd around with everyone else!

It says YOU MUST BE 14 TO ATTEND.
Not turning 14, or if you’re 12, 13.
YOU HAVE TO BE 14 AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT.
AGAIN, that means if you are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 YOU CAN NOT GO TO THE MMVA’S.
So do NOT line up for a wristband.
You can, however, go to the red carpet area or stand in the pit on Queen ST.
& again, YOU MUST BE 14 TO GO TO THE MMVAs.
My god.

I’m getting there at like 7am. Is that early enough? Cause someone said there are 6500 wristbands and I doubt that many people will be there that early, haha.
I’m only going to see Melanie C present an award though.

HERES A REASONABLE QUESTION:
if your friend is there at midnight , can u meet up with them later on, lets say around 3 or 4 and stand in line with them? lets say its just the two of you.

Im pulling an allnighter cuz i got
death cab the next day ;]
but ya kids with ids they HAVE to have the birth date on em so your school id’s wont cut it.
and getting there by 8 will keep u in line till about 11 or 12
that was lat year
the year before i got there at 6 and stayed until 1 so, it vaires.
