Last year: street crowd!
Alright you hooligans, the MMVAs are now a mere FIVE days away and y’all are jamming up our comments inbox with questions a-plenty. So I’m here to set the record straight about getting your arse to the MMVAs – wristband or not – and YOU are going to READ before you ask questions, or I will personally sit here and fume out loud before approving your comment and then not answering your question I already answered like 15 minutes ago! You know? (I still love you)
1. You can come to the MMVAs if you have a wristband or not! The wristbands give people access to the pit in front of each stage. The whole street will be open for you and your friends and the crazy guy from a nearby alley to kick back and enjoy the show.
2. You can still win wristbands through the Nokia contest (til June 12!) or through various radio contests across the country – Vancouver: The Beat 94.5, Edmonton: The Bounce 91.7, Calgary: Energy 101.5, Winnipeg: Q94, Toronto: 104.5 Chum FM, Flow 93.5, and Z103.5, and Halifax: Z103.5 FM.
3. There will be one more limited wristband giveaway for NKOTB fans this Thursday at 11am! Come to 299 Queen St West, and you will be required to answer NKOTB trivia questions! (More info)
4. They’re giving away wristbands to audience members on MOD all this week. Call 416.870.6824 to book a spot! (More info)
5. You can’t buy wristbands, they have been given away in limited quantities! We can not send you some in the mail, and we can’t pull strings to get you in (we can hardly get ourselves in!).
TIPS!
* You don’t need a wristband for the red carpet! Come early on Sunday and get prime front row access to all the celebs once security opens the gates!
* Come visit us on Saturday and Sunday afternoon! All the performers have to rehearse, and you’ll get to see the artists in more of a chill vibe, often running through their songs several times. PS: We don’t know the rehearsal schedule, but it will start around 1pm.
* We don’t know for sure if they’re giving away more wristbands on Sunday, and if you want prime position on the street, be here by 1pm (this is an estimate – we also didn’t know that the line-up for wristbands would wrap around the building by 2am)!
* They usually don’t close the street until late afternoon, otherwise the crowd waits on the (barricaded) sidewalk!
Anything I’m missing? Ask away!
