You know we’re getting closer to MMVA day when our announcements start picking up (still no wristbands though! Patience, my pretties!). Today, this year’s crop of nominations are in!

Both Nickelback and Danny Fernandes lead the pack with 5 nominations each. Marianas Trench are like, “we gave out subs on the red carpet two years ago and now we have 4 nominations!”** Then a bunch of people can boast 3 nominations: Classified, Bedouin Soundclash, Theory of a Deadman, The Midway State and k-os.

So abouuuuut this final count: can I be frank? No? Ok then. But seriously .. there are some people I’m really happy to see get some love (ex: Classified, Shad, The Stills) and others that need more love (ex: Metric - maybe next year when their album’s been out longer). Some maybe have too much love. But in any case, love is a wonderful thing and we can all use a little … so let’s give each other hugs and high fives and look forward to June 21, when we’ll find out who takes home the hardware!
