MMVA09: Wristbands Aren’t Available Yet!!

042909-wristbands

Ok, turkeys. I KNOW you’re all excited about the MMVAs and you need to know about wristbands oh, pretty much yesterday. I’m here to set the record straight on this sitch-ee-ation.

Real talk: we don’t know the official date that wristbands will be available. But when we do know, we’ll post it here and on Twitter IMMEDIATELY. That’s a galdang promise.

Here are some things we do know, based on past years:

* Usually, you have to be 14 and older to get in.
* Photo ID is required - under 16 can bring school ID and birth certificate.
* Wristbands have been given away on a first come, first serve basis to people who line up at Much HQ on a designated day.
* This day is usually in June, close to the MMVAs. You have to wear the wristband until the awards!
* The wristbands are free. Offering to pay for one won’t work!
* You can’t pick up wristbands for your friends. If you want one, you have to be here.

So for now, keep these things in mind! There is no guarantee that things will work the same way this year, but as soon as we know how things are going down, WE WILL TELL YOU. And if you ask us “when can we get wristbands???” again, I’ll personally deliver a high-octane noogie in person. Capice?!

  1. So you guys are going with the same policy of last year?

I heard that a lot of people got turned around at the door. . . is that true or false?

  2. As the post says, we’re not sure how the wristbands will work this year (it’s a secret affair that us web monkeys don’t know until the time comes). We can guess that it will be the same, but don’t assume for sure.
Turned away at the door? Haven’t heard about that myself…

  3. I remember seeing a post when someone was like ” I lined up for a couples hours go to the door and they were sold out ” but maybe im trippin!

its gonna be such a HUGE show like jonas live @ much X 40 oh my god. all of toronto needs to be shut down.

  4. Oh yeah - there are only a certain number of wristbands, so once they run out, anyone in line behind that point can’t get one! But the street is still open to anyone who wants to come, wristband or not.

  5. i’m willing to line up for days,
do you think that i have a fair shot?
and will I need photo ID?

  12. Do the wristbands indicate where you will be sitting/standing at the MMVAs? Like, if you were to be first in line for the wristbands, you will be in front seat for MMVAs?

  13. Noooo, not necessarily. There’s a whole new line game on MMVA day!

  14. If you’re that dedicated, then you probably have a fair shot! Who knows when the line will start forming this year, it’ll probably be pretty crazy. And yes, you’ll need a photo id!

By Olivia on May 11, 2009 at 2:56 pm |
  27. Wendy,

When do you think would be the best time to come to line up to get wristbands. I would rather not go overnight. Since June 21st is my birthday, I am really looking forward to this event and want it planned to the tee ;) When does the MMVA’s usually end?

  28. Unfortunately Sisii, I’m pretty sure it’s gonna be a definite over-nighter.. but we will have contests, too!

By Wendy on May 11, 2009 at 5:30 pm |
  29. Id like to go this year, and I went in 07..but we only got there at 9 the night before. People are talking staying in line for dayss? Am I being paranoid..or is it bigger than only two years ago?

By Olivia on May 11, 2009 at 6:05 pm |
  30. Hey, do you think that we’ll have to line up in the morning?
Because doesn’t that mean we’ll have to stay like over night even if we want a chance at getting wristbands?

    Ohh gosh.

By Michelle on May 11, 2009 at 8:11 pm |
  31. Good question.. there’s no telling when people will start to line up, but I’m pretty sure it’ll be intense this year, what with the JoBros. I think maybe I’ll start a discussion soon on the blog, so people can start to gauge what might happen for it…!

By Wendy on May 11, 2009 at 9:35 pm |
  32. I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT BRODY JENNER AND HIS GIRLFRIEND JAYDE NICOLE WILL FOR SURE BE ATTENDING THE MMVA’S THIS YEAR!

By Emily on May 12, 2009 at 8:49 pm |
  33. Thanks for the reply, Wendy.

What kind of contests can I expect? Also, when and how can I sign up for them? Should I start popping up at the Much Music live taping, since when I watch it on TV - that’s when they start giving stuff out :)

    Thanks,

    Sisii Oh

  34. I think I’m going to stand in line for days to get in.
How will I know when the wristbands are being given out !?
I really wanna go, it would be so amazing.
Any suggestions on how to get in, and actually be able to see for definate ?
