Three years ago rapper Prodigy was jailed for weapons charges, but earlier today he was released from a Mid-State Correctional Facility in New York.
One half of Queens duo Mobb Deep, Prodigy (born Albert Johnson) was arrested in October 2006 after being pulled over for an illegal U-turn. A police search found a .22 calibre firearm, which led to a three and a half year setencing on March 18, 2008.
Prodigy’s partner Havoc recently told XXL that we can expect some new music from Mobb Deep fairly soon. “[Prodigy] is ready to touch the town, go home, get to work [and] catch up on a lot of shit that he missed,” he said.
50 Cent verified the news, tweeting “my man Prodigy is free. check out his first pic” along with this pic.Tweet
