MOD Spring Break VJ: Martha

My name is Martha. I grew up in Toronto, but I’m a third year student at McMaster University and living in Hamilton. For the past three years my top two priorities have been to make the most of life by taking advantage of every day with the greatest friends possible, and to do well in school so I can continue indulging in every aspect of college life. So far it’s been working out well. My friends are the best in the world and we never fail to have a least a few good stories every Sunday. I decided with Becca and Mandy (two of my best friends) that the only way we wanted to spend Spring Break’10 was, naturally, at the most notorious party in the world. So, in a heartbeat we were on our way to Cancun, Mexico – every college student’s dream!

The first 24 hours were insane, so we rallied and got day two rolling with some sunshine and drinks by the pool. Little did I know, Becca and Mandy had already been chosen as Much VJs for the week. I found this out when the Much cameras came over and asked if I wanted to be the third VJ. I was easily convinced. After all, our first task of picking 3 guys off the beach seemed like a great way to get my wheels spinning – haha kidding, but I was sold on the thought.

Turns out that was one of the better decisions I’ve made. For the week we probably partied 18 hours a day, give or take (usually give), met the most fun/awesome/greatlooking people, and we were VIP with booths and bottles every night. Yeah, we were living the life. Plus, on top of all the craziness that is Cancun, we did scavenger hunts with some spicy consequences, and swam with the dolphins! I’m also sure being submerged underwater with the “most aggressive” [and terrifying, hungry] creatures in the ocean won’t be easily forgotten by any of us, especially the plastic box we were in with holes the size of my legs that kept us so safe.

I knew Breakaway tours threw the best parties, so I expected my week to be just unreal, and they definitely didn’t disappoint. Actually, my days spent in Cancun far exceeded my expectations, making it the most difficult to leave, and next to impossible to try and sum up in words. If I could, I wouldn’t change a single detail. I loved every minute of my life the entire week…soo let me know when it’s time for round 2? xo
