Ok, I’m beyond myself.
Writer/Director/All-Around Creative Genius, Wes Anderson and Writer/Actor/Musician/All-Around Lovable Guy Jason Schwartzman will be on MOD this THURSDAY to promote their film The Darjeeling Limited!!!!!
There are no words to describe how friggin’ stoked I am. Judging by the number of times I’ve blogged about these two guys (4x + a blog post about Roman Coppola = 5), y’all know that I’m a fan. I doubt I’ll have the opportunity to meet them, but seriously what do you do when you’re in the presence of two people that you admire?
Oh god, I fear that I may just pull the crazed BSB fan technique (you know, the ugly cry/frazzled hair/fan t-shirt/handmade poster)…
I kid but my love for these two really goes that far.
Sidenote: I did see The Darjeeling Limited on opening night and well… I’ll keep my review to myself until after their appearance.. For now, I just want to bask in the positive.

This is awesome! Could you guys tell me when you think Wes and Jason will be coming out? During the first of second half of the 1hr show? I know it’s usually a gamble, but just thought i’d ask anyway, because I want to show up but can’t stay the full hour.

ALSO off topic, but if MUTE MATH ever comes back to Toronto (they better!!!) you gotta get them on MOD. I just saw them on Conan, amazing, Conan really liked them too. ARG! Conan was on MOD too all those years ago….so close yet I never got to see him in person….i’m rambling.

I thought by working there at MuchMusic you’d be hanging out with them all day, and also partying with rock stars all the time. I guess not?Thank you very much for letting me know when they were going to be on, if it weren’t for you I probably would have showed up at the second half and miss them completely. I did get to meet Jason, he was nice enough to come outside and signed my Rushmore DVD, yeah he was pretty short thought kinda hard for me to tell since he was standing up on the platform, and it was pretty rushes, the producer, or someone kept telling him he only had a few seconds then had to go…
I was really disappointed Wes didn’t come out though. He saw me, acknowledged I had one of his DVD’s, I was sure he was gonna come by, but he never did…….. I asked Jason if he could somehow get Wes to come and sign it, which then he miss heard me and said “but I already signed it” but then realized what I really said, then he responded “I think he just left” which was awkward since I clearly saw him standing right behind him!!! but I kinda assumed Wes just didn’t wanna come out….? I didn’t think arguing with Jason would do any good.
I wanted to tell Wes that I can’t wait for “The Fantastic Mr. Fox” and now he will never know! oh the humanity!
I am rambling, did any of that make sense?…I should go now, i’m pretty sure i’m getting paid to do some work around here.

@thatguy: despite not having the opportunity to meet wes anderson, you did get to meet jason and get your Rushmore DVD signed (classic)!
Both Wes and Jason had to leave right after their interview because they were heading over to the MTV studios to do MTV Live.. They had a crazy day of press…
Also, you’ll curse me for telling you this, but on wednesday night both Wes and Jason did a QA at the Cumberland following the screening of The Darjeeling.. I only found out the day after from a friend of mine.. Pretty crazy, eh?
@ kate_28: I blogged his AMEX commercials a while back.. Most recently he did commercials for AT&T and surprisingly they’re being aired in Canada!

Haha yeah I heard they were in town the day before for a screening! I always find these things out right after they happened. Like when I missed the premiere of “Juno” at TIFF.
I guess I should appreciate what I got anyway, thanks! It’s better than not seeing them at all anyway, with MOD it’s just so easy! Well, there’s the risk of getting fired, but it’s worth it.
