With Mariah Carey in, it’s time to start speculating who else will be joining the pop star on the judges panel for the upcoming season of American Idol. Rumours have been running wild lately, but apparently two more names have been thrown into the discussion.
Potentially replacing Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, who has been moved to the role of a mentor on the show, will be Jonas Brother, Nick Jonas and N.E.R.D. rapper/producer Pharrell Williams.
“Nick is pretty close to signing to be the Idol judge,” an insider says. “They flew him in to L.A. last week for final meetings.”
Williams, who has produced hits for Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Gwen Stefani, is reportedly close to settling a contract deal with the show. “Everything is looking good, but they’re still working out details,” an insider tells US Weekly.
What do you think of these two joining the show? Do you think they will do it? Who else would you like to see become a judge on American Idol?Tweet
