NY Mag is right.
With the announcement of 90s non-band Extreme (was there any other power ballad in competition with More Than Words in 1990!?) getting back together in 2008, plus this weekend’s news about The Jesus & Mary Chain reunion (I mean, I loved them back in the day, but is anyone clamouring to hear new material from the Reid brothers?!), “every living band that has ever existed is now in a state of blissful, lucrative unity and currently on tour!”.
Sometimes, no matter how much you love a band, it’s kinda nice to remember them the way they once were. Not making a weak, bloated comeback just to earn some extra money (Pixies, The Verve, Queen, etc.). I mean, revive your merch sales if you want. I’d kill for a nice, original style The Smiths tshirt. But I don’t want the band to get back together or make more music.
