Movies That Ruined Our Childhood Memories

OK, for those of you who read my review of Transformers, you know that I wasn’t a huge fan – although it was visually stunning, in every other regard it was a big ol’ clunky mess. Because of this, my nostalgic love of the original Transformers toys and cartoon has been slightly tainted. Hollywood seems to do this a lot: take fond childhood memories and squash them to a bloody pulp in the form of mediocre movies based on whatever Hasbro/Mattel/etc gimmick they can get their filthy hands on. For this reason I’m happy to have come across this list of Top 10 Movies That Ruined Our Childhood Memories. Even though I might not agree with the order of this list, I do agree with every single entry. Do you? What other movies should be on it?

Oh – there are talks that another He-Man movie might soon go into production, produced by Joel Silver (The Matrix, V for Vendetta). Although this sounds promising, hopefully Joel has seen 1987′s Masters of the Universe which starred Dolph Lundgren and Courtney Cox. I pray history does not repeat itself.
