Happy Summer.
Wanted to direct your attention to the latest Martin Solveig video. Its been on the interweb for some time, but has finally arrived to us here for broadcast. You will probably remember his last hit, since it’s still being killed at radio in Canada. t featured Martina from Dragonette. She’s Canadian. She’s hot.
Anyways, this time around he’s got the soothing vocals of my boy Kele from Bloc Party. Search Kele, and Bloc Party and thank me later. Quick sidebar: I’m off to Paris Wednesday, which is where Martin Solveig is from, and then on Friday I’m headed to the Tomorrowland Festival in Belgium, where Martin will be performing on the main stage on Saturday. Should be ridiculous. Blah blah blah…here’s that video.
Next up, I think you should check out this video. It’s the second single off the debut album from Foster The People call Helena Beat. I should mention that this video was deemed Post-9 pm due to some violence. Kids and violence don’t really mix so well for us at Much on the tele….but I’m more than happy to push it on you online.
I like to always mention some Canadian content in my music blogs, but this time my ‘cancon’ is a real stretch. The name of the lead single off the new Bon Iver album is titled “Calgary”. Is that Canadian enough?
I should mention that singer/songwriter Justin Vernon has never been to Calgary, Alberta. I think this is a perfect segue into me proclaiming my undying love for the Calgary Flames. I was born in Calgary. Go Flames!
