Mumford & Sons set Billboard ablaze with Babel

Mumford & Sons have set a new record for 2012 for making the best selling record of the year with Babel. This is Mumford & Sons’ second album and it sold 600,000 all in in its first week and is the first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Their record label, Glassnote Records, also saw its first No. 1 with Babel. And sadly for Beliebers, Babel out sold the previous No. 1 spot held by Justin Bieber for his record Believe. Babel also bested top selling albums released by Madonna for MDMA and Pink for The Truth About Love. Granted, it is only October… perhaps the next Bruno Mars record will trump these guys? It ain’t over til it’s over but Babel rocked our socks off.
