A new song being released tonight by British rock band Muse has been selected as the official song of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. According to the band’s official website, Survivor will be used throughout the Games, “including when athletes enter the stadium, in the lead up to the medal ceremony and also as the theme for all international TV coverage.”
Muse frontman Matt Belamy wrote Survivor with the Olympics in mind, saying that the track is “about total conviction and pure determination to win.” Survivor will make its radio debut tonight on BBC Radio 1.
This Thursday, Hedley will be throwing a Block Party for Canadian Olympians heading to London for the summer games. Click here to find out how you can stream the performance and get involved with the Olympics online.
