My Date With: Emily Osment

My experience through “My Date With… Emily Osment” was one I’ll never forget. Who would have thought my lousy video entry (at least I thought it was lousy) would land me an exclusive hang out with Emily Osment!

When I received a phone call from MuchMusic, my mind went racing. All I could think about was, who am I going to invite to my house? and how will I decorate my basement? The most important thing that was running through my mind though was “I hope I don’t lose again”. I thought this because I made top 4 for My Date With… Miley Cyrus, and lost. So all I could think about was how embarrassing it would be to lose again! Lets just say, I was pretty nervous when MuchMusic knocked on my door.

When I was opening the envelope I was shaking. I was so nervous… until it said I wasn’t chosen to go on a date with Emily Osment, then I was just sad. As my friends comforted me, I was told to go look out the window. When I opened my blinds I saw a huge white limo parked in front of my house. At that moment, my heart stopped. I was so confused! The envelope said I lost, but there is a limo outside my house! My door bell suddenly rang, and my best friend Ally and I ran up the stairs as fast as we could to answer it. There standing on my door step was Mr. Tim Deegan! That was probably the highlight of everyone’s night (let’s just say my friends love Tim..). Tim then handed me another envelope, and when I opened it, it said I was the winner. I have never been so happy in my life! Everything happened so fast! Next thing I knew was me, Ally and Tim Deegan were off to Toronto!

When we arrived at our hotel at around 11:30 that night, I’m pretty sure I didn’t fall asleep until 3am. When we woke up Tim greeted us in the hotel lobby and before he told us our first activity, he gave us our own Flip cameras so we could record the experience ourselves! Tim then told us we were going to Marc Anthony to get our hair done! Ally and I were beyond happy because we were due for a good hair cut! I was stoked until I was told I was going red head. I was pretty nervous considering I have never died my hair before, and I have naturally dirty blond hair, but I thought, why not! By the end of it I was a red head (and surprisingly loved it) and Ally had luscious layers! After we got our hair done, it wouldn’t be complete unless we got our make up done to! We headed over to Sephora for an awesome makeup job and some free makeup as well!

Next Tim surprised us at Over The Rainbow (new favourite store) for a shopping spree! There were sooo many cute clothes there, I just wanted to take one of everything home with me. Ally and I were just looking at some jeans until I heard a voice behind me say “Hi”. I turned around expecting it to be my mom, but nope, it was EMILY OSMENT! I stood there dumbfounded for a good 5 seconds, then we hugged and chatted! I was in such shock because I didn’t think we were meeting Emily until the next day! Emily helped us pick out some cute clothes and she even got a panda bear hat and a bag!

After we went shopping we all went out for dinner at Morocos. The restaurant was half a chocolate boutique and half a restaurant. I was in heaven. We ate a lovely dinner then went to do some taste testing on some of the chocolate products. It was delicious!

As we were in the limo on our way back to the hotel, Emily surprised us and invited us to her concert at Markville Mall the next day! I was sooo happy because I didn’t want to leave her quite yet, and I really wanted to see her perform live.

When we arrived at Markville Mall we met with Emily before the show to wish her luck and she also told us about her before the show warm ups and we met her band as well. As we were going down the escalator to the venue where she was playing, all the fans below started screaming and taking pictures! I was so confused because Emily was no where in site. Until I realized that Ally sort of looks like Emily from a far, and it didn’t help much that a camera crew was right in front of us either. So all the fans below were screaming for us, until they realized Ally wasn’t Emily, then it was a little awkward. We found our spots for the concert which were front row. We were so close that I felt like I was blocking the bands view of the audience. It was insane. Emily’s opening act came on. His name was Jesse Labelle. Ally and I both loved him a lot. Then Emily came out and wowed the whole audience. Her voice was so good live! During the performance Emily accidentally kicked her water bottle at Ally. It was pretty funny. I guess that shows how close we were!

After the show was over, we said our final goodbyes and headed on home. It was pretty depressing leaving that whole experience, but it was one I will never forget. Ally and I were getting pretty used to those cameras around us. I smell a new reality show?

Anyway, thank you SO much Muc Music for this experience! Emily was such a nice girl! I feel like we could be best friends now! Thank you so much for making all of this happen! :)
