My Date With Miley!

Kadist was the lucky winner of a date with Miley Cyrus – and you can watch it all go down tonight at 6:30pm ET! Here’s what she has to say about the experience…

It sounds so surreal to say, because we’re still finding it hard to believe. This experience was like something we’d always dreamed of, but never really thought would happen to us. We’ve been given the chance to experience things we only could imagine of, seen things that we’ll never forget, and said some things… we wish we hadn’t. Whenever we think about it we can’t help but burst into laughter and shake our heads. We met some of the most amazing people, made some good friends, countless memories and inside jokes we can always look back on. This definitely goes up in our top ten. I mean, not many people can say they’ve met Miley Cyrus. But we sure can.

We’ve never been one to enter in contests. But when we heard about this one in particular, we had to – even if it was just for fun. We’re not exactly what you call lucky, so we went into this thinking Much would watch our video, get a couple of laughs and that would be the end of it. Would we actually win this? Probably not! Was our video going to be the best? Definitely not! We literally entered a couple of hours before the contest ended. Sending in our video to MuchMusic was a difficult process, our computer was running a little slow and no matter how many times we pressed the ‘send’ button it just wouldn’t send, so we gave up and that was that, we went to bed thinking it didn’t work at all.

So when I got a call from a Much representative (Ken!) telling me that Jessica and I have been chosen to be in the Top 4 finals for My Date With… Miley Cyrus I was a little surprised. By a little I mean a whole lot! The minute I hung up the phone the chaos began. Jumping on the bed, screaming at the top of my lungs, happy dancing like I’ve just won the lottery. My neighbors probably thought someone was being murdered. I was finding it hard to breathe. I couldn’t believe what just happened. Me? Out of all the people who entered, me! I needed to calm the hell down before I told anyone, but I knew that wasn’t going to happen. I instantly called Jessica who was at a school’s volleyball game and the words couldn’t come out of my mouth all I could do was scream in her ear. Obviously confused, asked what was wrong with me and if I was okay? After I told her what just went down she ran over to my house. Once she got there we had a good hour or two of us just screaming and laughing.

We were told that in order for us to win we had to have a valid passport, which I found out that night… I did not. Insert freaking out here. That whole entire week was madness. Trying to get my new passport on time, the pile of homework we barely touched, and the sleep we lost over the excitement of us possibly winning a trip to meet Miley-freaking-Cyrus. When things got a little more manageable, we got a call from Much telling us that they’d be in town the next day to tell us the verdict. We spent the whole day anticipating. Did we or did we not win! We wanted to know so badly, before we lost our minds. We rushed to Jessica’s home with a couple of friends to wait for Much’s arrival. After what seemed like a gazillion years, we saw a limo pull up. It felt like the whole house was going to collapse with all of us running around screaming our heads off. Then the doorbell rang. Our hearts all beating so fast you’d think they’d beat themselves to death. We opened the door with a huge camera in our face. Oh, hi there!? Screams of twelve teenage girls filled the house.

We got straight to the point. Matte Babel handed us the envelope that determined whether or not we had won. We both tore the envelope open to read that we had not won the contest. But I guess my eyes decided to skip over the ‘not’ part. So I started screaming thinking we’d won but only to have Jessica tell me that we didn’t. That was probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life, and even worse its on tape. Matte then was teasing us going on about how if he was lying would we be upset with him, or if we really wanted to win. After everything sunk it, finally knowing we didn’t win. We just accepted that fact; it was still a cool experience that we’d never forget. Being top 4 in all of Canada, that’s got to mean something, right! Then Matte basically did a “HA, JUST KIDDING – YOU WON!” way to play with our heads! We won. WE WON! We just FREAKING won! Our not-funny-five-minute-badly-edited video is now the reason why we won the trip to Orlando, Florida to meet the one and only Miley Cyrus! Never in a million years would we think this type of thing would happen to us. That next morning we’d be off to a 3-day trip that we’d never want to forgot about.

Walking down the escalators at the Florida airport to pick up our luggage was when we saw a man holding up a sign that read “Welcome, Kidist and Jessica!” and beside him a camera pointing directly at us to get our reaction. They escorted us to a limo (can you say, VIP!) that took us to the hotel (in Disneyworld) where we’d be staying the next couple of days. When we got into our room our bed was filled with Miley goodies, which was a nice surprise. We spent that night soaking everything in. We’ve won, we’re here, and it’s bound to be a good time! The next couple of days were filled with fun activities that we couldn’t wait to do. We went shopping with out “personal stylist”, went on Tower of Terror – one of the scariest rides we have ever been on, went on Rock N Rollercoaster, to a Spa – our first Mani Pedi ever, really looked forward to that, and a Safari ride. We had a blast and being in Disneyworld just made everything that much more fun. The happiest place on earth!

The day we were meeting Miley Cyrus was one of the most nerve-racking days of our lives. We were so excited but nervous at the same time. We didn’t know what to expect, if our perception of her would live up to the real deal. We waited there while Miley was doing press, laughing at our own inside jokes when Miley looked over at us and smiled. Um, hello? Miley just smiled at us. We got her attention, holla. We waved at her mom, which I think freaked her out a little bit but that’s okay.

Next you know it, Miley was done press and we walked up her. She greeted us with a hug, which we weren’t expecting by the way and began our little interview. The whole entire time we were asking her questions the little video we made was replaying in our heads. Because of that video, we were standing right there, with one of our idols. Talk about surreal. After we interviewed her we performed the rap we wrote just for Miley. She was totally feeling it, you could tell! We were a little embarrassed at first, but what the hay we went for it. We got a chance to chill with her for a little while after taping. She filled us in on a little secret! That’s right, our homegirl Miley told us a little something something. It was so personal we couldn’t believe those words came out of her mouth. After that moment it made us think of her as an even cooler person than she already is. We are way past the whole first name basis. We’re basically all best friends now! We said our goodbyes, and she peaced. It went by so fast that we didn’t even have time to remember everything that happened. Miley was definitely the type of person we expected her to be. She was welcoming, funny, and just full of life. We love you, Milerz!

The whole entire trip was a great experience. MuchMusic treated us so good. We still can’t believe this happened to us. Out of all the millions of others who have entered. We were chosen. We are so lucky to been given this opportunity. I’m glad I got to experience this trip with my best friend. It wouldn’t have been the same without you. Thank you MuchMusic and Miley for the amazing memories we’ve made.
