Lauren was our lucky winner to fly to Las Vegas and meet Katy Perry! Watch the Date go down tonight at 6:30pm ET, and for now read what she has to say about the experience!

Well first off I have to say that this was an experience of a lifetime! I got to fly to Las Vegas and meet Katy Perry and have it all filmed! I will never forget it!

I may as well start from the beginning. I was a home sitting downstairs watching TV when the phone rings. My mom calls down the stairs and says that the phone is for me. I get up and grab the phone and say hello? The person on the other line tells me that I am one of the finalists for the contest My Date with Katy Perry. When I hung up the phone I didn’t know how I should feel. I didn’t want to be excited because I didn’t want to be let down but there was definitely a side of me that was excited! I called my best friend Maddy and told her that I had become a finalist and that if I did, by sheer luck, win, I would take her with me as my bring along. She had absoutely no confidence that I was going to win. Great best friend huh?

On the day that they came to tell me whether or not I had won, my mom made me help clean! I mean come on, I was nervous and she’s making me clean! When finally the cleaning was done MuchMusic arrived and I was handed the envelope. I had already set my heart on not going so that I wouldn’t be sad when I read that I had not won. But to my surprise I had actually won the contest! I couldn’t believe it! It took me awhile to register that I was literally going to Las Vegas and was meeting Katy Perry! Maddy was completely blown away.

The day that they came was also the day we left for the trip. After I found out I won, Sarah Taylor came through the door and said that she was coming with us! That afternoon felt really short. When I finally got on the plane I was jumping up and down. I guess that’s why I slept for most of the way! When we finally touched down, Sarah was waiting for us with the film crew. Unfortunately I had forgotten to bring an extra pair of clothes with me on the plane so I walked off the plane in my PJs! Oh well, at least I was comfy.

Once we got all our luggage we headed to the hotel which was in fact the Hard Rock Hotel! It was amazing inside. They had costumes in display cases. Our room was fantastic! Big comfy beds and a nice big screen TV. We started to get hungry and headed down to the restraunt in the hotel to have some lunch, and talked to Sarah for a bit. It was weird having to be hooked up to microphones and having the camera follow you.

After our lunch we got to go to a thrift store and go shopping! It was actually pretty cool. And the best part was we didn’t have to pay! We tried on clothes for a while and then realised that we were running short for time seeing as we had a hair appointment. When we got to the hair salon they cut and styled our hair. Once that was done we were tuckered out! We went back to the room and flopped on the bed. When we woke up it was Valentine’s Day!! Even though neither Maddy or I had boyfriends it really didn’t matter. Though my step-father did get the kitchen to send my mom chocolate covered strawberries that were really good!

Later that day Sarah and the film crew came to help us choose an outfit for that day, seeing as we were going to hang out with Katy Perry! When we finally made a decision we headed to the lobby and waited for her to arrive. I was more excited than nervous. Then they finally told me that they were ready. They showed us to one of the limos and when they opened the door, there sat Katy Perry! She was so nice and sweet and really down to earth. When we all piled into the limo we started to drive to our destination. We got to talk to Katy for a while and ask her questions. When we finally got to the Stratosphere we had to take elevators to the top of the building because we were going on a ride! When we got to the top we saw what we were going to get on. It looked like a mini drop zone. But the drop zone isn’t on top of a huge building! But man was the ride fun!

Once the ride was over we took the limo back to the hotel. That whole experience was amazing and way better because we got to do it with Katy Perry! I thought that she might have thought that it would be a waste of her time to hang out with two 15-year-olds but she actually seemed to like spending time with us. At least that’s what I hope she was feeling!

When we got back to the hotel we said goodbye and went back and had dinner and then got ready for Katy Perry’s show! We got dressed up in clothes that we found the day before then went down to enjoy the show. She was really good live! I thought she was also a great preformer! After the amazing show we went back to one of the rooms and got to see her again, and got her to sign some stuff! Then we finally said our goodbyes.

Even though it was over, I knew that I would always have those memories to look back on. Thank you MuchMusic for letting me experience it all!
