After announcing on Twitter last December that she would be releasing a new album this summer, BC songstress Nelly Furtado is giving fans an early taste of what to expect from her fifth studio album, The Spirit Indestructible. The disc marks Furtado’s first English language release in six years, following 2006′s Grammy-nominated Loose.
Photos of Furtado walking on a LA sidewalk in stilts surfaced on RapUp.com last week as part of Nelly’s music video for Big Hoops (Bigger the Better), Furtado’s first single off The Spirit Indestructible.
Today we get to hear a teaser of Big Hoops (Bigger the Better), which is produced by Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins. The uptempo dance track could almost be mistaken for a M.I.A. disc, leading me to assume The Spirit Indestructible will be much closer to Furtado’s pop album Loose than her first two albums, the folksy, guitar driven Whoa, Nelly! and Folklore.
Check out a snippet of Nelly Furtado’s upcoming single Big Hoops (Bigger the Better) below.
