Neverending Story is WHAT?!

Dear Hollywood,

I heard that you were looking into creating a remake of the classic 80s movie “The NeverEnding Story”. I would like to respectfully decline your offer, on behalf of EVERYONE.

Sigh. Looks like a couple production companies have their paws in on this one, and would like to update the original “with a modern twist”. I’m sure they’ve thrown around the idea of getting the Slumdog cast to reprise various roles. What, Bollywood is hot right now!

Anyway, instead of remaking classics, it would be nice to see some real original new movies with the heart of these old ones. Which classic movies are off limits, in your opinion? (Well, all of them.. but which particular movie remakes would stab you in the heart?)

  1. GREASE is NEVER to be touched. It is my FAVOURITE movie of all time.
    They made a second one, I have NEVER seen it, and don’t plan on EVER watching it. No one could ever play the roles of Sandy and Danny as well as Olivia Newton John and John Travolta. No on could ever play any of the other characters as well as the original cast did.

  3. Unrelated to this subject, i’m just waiting for the topic of America’s Best Dance crew to be posted.

    I just watched the semi final ep a little while ago. It’s between Quest and those…people. I obviously want QUEST to win, who doesn’t female or not they are the best dance crew, and that’s what this competition is all about…isn’t it?

    Anyway, i wanted to bring up a point again and that is WHY CAN’T CANADIANS VOTE?!?! doesn’t that frustrate anyone? We watch the show here on MuchMusic just as they do on MTV yet they have their say and all we can do is watch the results.

    This isn’t politics, it’s entertainment, i don’t know why these rules have been made, Canada gets screwed so badly and it seems that we just take it up the ass without any complaints.

    Will someone at MuchMusic please speak up and change this stupidity.

    I would really like to vote for QUEST please, the crew most deserving to win, yet all I can do is sit here and watch the show from behind the glass like all the other Canadians who weren’t really invited to the party.

  4. ugh - are you kidding me?? this movie does NOT need to be remade. the original NES was the best - the german original. then we had the two bastardized, blasphemous sequels put out by hollywood.
