I know we’re all still reeling from the MMVAs yesterday (did you SEE those boob-fireworks?), but let’s come back to earth for a minute. Bloc Party, one of my favourite bands from across the pond, is releasing a new single, “One More Chance”. As per usual, the interwebs has it streaming already, notably at the band’s myspace page.
You gotta hear this thing. There’s this kinda weird (in my opinion) early 90’s piano riff that goes on during the verse, but the chorus has some great club-rock moments like you hear on the band’s second album A Weekend In the City. So I can be dancing along to the chorus until the verse starts again and it gets creepy. I feel cold, this is strange.
Are you a Bloc Party fan? Do you love this song or hate it? Does it usher in a new era of scary scary 90’s themed Bloc Party music, or is it a brilliant revival of the past?
