Finally! Stereogum is reporting that Doves have posted a free new download of Jetstream, a track from their forthcoming album Kingdom Of Rust.

When you enter your email/country of origin in the appropriate fields and get the link to download the song, a Google map pops up showing you where the song’s been downloaded (U.S. and the UK are top contenders so far, but there are some other smatterings worldwide).

The vocals veer in a different direction from most of Doves’ stuff. I dunno if Jez Williams (guitar) has taken over vocals on this song, but it’s definitely not lead vocalist Jimi Goodwin, who’s got a really distinct voice that has a spot in my ‘top 10 male vocalists of all time’ list. I love when the song really kicks in at 2:05 and then metamorphasizes at 2:48. Let me know what you think once you’ve grabbed the track (ie before it’s gone!).

Kingdom Of Rust is out April 6.
