Press releases announcing new albums are a dime a dozen, but there’s something about the new Fleet Foxes album that makes up for the clot of announcements that fill email inboxes.
The Seattle-based band will release their highly anticipated sophomore album via Sub Pop on May 3rd. Helplessness Blues will coincide with a North American tour in the spring, their first since 2009. The tour will kick off in Vancouver on April 30th and travel across the U.S. Unfortunately, that is the only Canadian date at this time.
Helplessness Blues was recorded over the course of a year at Avast Recording, Bear Creek Studios, Dreamland Studios, and Reciprocal Recording. Like their debut, the album was mixed by Phil Ek and co-produced by Fleet Foxes and Ek.
Fleet Foxes have been nice enough to share the title track from Hopelessness Blues, which you can hear below.
