It seems as if we’ve been waiting around forever to hear the latest greatest from Franz Ferdinand, and we’re just going to have to wait a tad longer still.

The band’s third album entitled, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is set to be released January 27, 2009 and has been produced by Dan Carey, (his past works include Hot Chip, Lily Allen, Sia, Kylie, CSS, M.I.A)!

I’m not going to lie, I am particularly excited for “Katherine Kiss Me”, as I enjoy songs which have my name in them (even if I spell my name differently…)! Truthfully though, I am so excited for this entire album as I’m a big Franz fan and they’ve yet to disappoint me.

How can one not be excited after reading frontman Alex Kapranos’s thoughts on the new album’s feel…

“Tonight: Franz Ferdinand is music of the night: to fling yourself around your room to as you psyche yourself for a night of hedonism, for the dance-floor, flirtation, for your desolate heart-stop, for losing it and loving losing it, for the chemical surge in your bloodstream.”
