One of my favourite new blogs (which I subscribe to via RSS, and suggest you do, too, cause the design leaves much to be desired) is You Thought We Wouldn’t Notice. It’s a blog dedicated to exposing blatant plagiarism in design (logos, tshirts, jewellery, posters, art, etc.) using submissions from around the web.
The latest plagiarizer is none other than Good Charlotte. Their upcoming greatest hits album (wow, is it time for that already??) is a clear dupe of 2007’s Boys Noize(see also: Daft Punk, Justice) album art. Boys Noize album art by Christoph Steinmayer above left, and Good Charlotte above right.
And if you don’t see the blatant similarity between those two skulls - click through to GC’s MySpace page, which includes a spinning disco ball skull that looks exactly like the spinning Boys Noize logo animated by Bred Baker. Weak.
