PLL Episode 5: New guys, old guys and (kinda) creepy guys

In this weeks episode the girls find lurve with new guys, old guys, and somewhat creepy guys (sorry Toby, I’m still rooting for you). Hanna werks the scrubs, Emily makes a mix CD, Spencer gets her very own ball boy and Aria…well, Aria seems to be getting royally messed ovah by ‘A’.

After the girls get the mad-creepy message on Spencer’s mirror they all decide to stay with Spencer until her parents return from vacay. Good idea, but I think and even better idea would be to stay with Spencer at someone else’s house. But, I’m a scardey cat. Hanna is sent a message on her phone from ‘A’ that has a video of the girls discovering the message on the mirror. The video was taken inside Spencer’s closet. This just may be the most creep-tastic episode of PLL yet!

Shizz has officially hit the fan in the Montgomery house after ‘A’ was nice enough to send Aria’s mother a letter about her cheating husband. Aria drops bomb numero duce on her mom when she reveals that she’s been keeping her dad’s secret for over a year. These peeps are starting to give the Lohans a run for their money in the dysfunctional category.

Hanna has to work in Sean’s mother’s dental clinic to pay off the damage she did to Sean’s car after her audition for the Fast and the Furious 8. She runs into Sean on the street and see’s him being picked up by Amber. Who da hellz is Amber and why is she wearing her cheerleading uniform when she is obviously not at practice? Does she want to be ready in case someone needs a little pep talk?

Hanna shares an elevator with Jenna while on her way to work and watches the mystery girl apply the same lipstick that was used to leave the message on Spencer’s mirror. It’s also the same colour that Alison used to wear. It’s also a really nice shade (srsly, does anyone sell that?).

Back in Spencer-land, Dee Eh Dee invites Spence to a tennis match between a potential client and his daughter and then informs Spencer that he is throwing her a celebratory dinner for her award winning paper. Quick thought – if this paper is so amazeballs then why didn’t Spencer’s sister win the same award when she submitted it originally? Just a thought. Anywho, Spencer’s father tells her to throw the tennis match, which Spencer finds appalling. G-friend, you plagiarized your sisters essay after you made out with her fiancé, but you’re upset with your father for asking you to throw a friendly tennis game so that he can land a big client and continue to support your obviously loaded family? Chillax!

Aria decides that publicly supporting her teacher (and BF) Mr. Fitz at a reading of his book in a bar is a good idea. She would be wrong. Fitz’s college buddy shows up and the three hang out, but not without Fitz’s much-more sensible buddy pointing out that this fling could land Fitz in jail. This is soooooo gonna end badly!

Hanna gets a message from ‘A’ that includes pictures of the kiss between Emily and Maya in the photo booth! Hanna talks to Emily and says that she supports Emily in all her relationships. Hanna is talking about Maya. Emily thinks Hanna is talking about Em’s friendship with Toby. I think these people need to communicate better.

Aria shows up the night after the bar/book reading at Fitz’s to cook him dinner and unfortunately had forgotten her phone there the night before…and he unfortunately read a message from ‘A’ about their affair. See!! Aria is totally getting messed with this week. He throws her out of the apartment and most likely decides to stop giving her extra stickers on her essays in class.

Emily feels bad about blowing off her new lab partner Toby in front of her friends, so she meets up with him the next day at The Grill and gives him a mix CD. Not gonna lie – the mix CD he made for her with a cartoon of Emily on the front pretty much pwn’d her CD, but it was still nice that she apologized. I’m really starting to feel like Toby is genuinely a good dude. His step-sister Jenna, though? Hellz no.

Spencer, frustrated with her dad, reveals that she stole her essay and then storms off to meet her new ‘friend’ Alex. He’s cute as a button and all, but does that mean no more Wren? Bloody hell. That English hottie was all that and a bag of chips.

As always, PLL has left us DYIN’ for next week’s episode! Will the girls find out about Emily’s friendship with Toby? Will Aria and Fitz get back together? Will Spencer get in troubs for stealing her sister’s essay? Will Hanna keep wearing amazingly awesome scrubs to work? Tune in next Tuesday at 8pm ET to find out!
