New Moon Sells More Than 4 Million DVDs

New Moon just bested the first Twilight movie by selling more than 4 million DVDs in the first weekend. The original Twilight movie sold 3.8 million copies.

There were several DVD release parties across North American including a viewing party here at MuchMusic for dozens of big fans. Several cast members like Peter Facinelli and the director Chris Weitz showed up at various retailers during “New Moon at Midnight” events held at 7,000 stores in America.

Twilight was the top-selling DVD of 2009 with a total of 9.2 million sold. The third movie, Eclipse, is out in theatres on June 30 and will no doubt blow the first two away.
