NEW MOON TAKES A BITE OUT OF INDIE

The tracklist for the New Moon soundtrack was revealed yesterday (finally!) and bares both: the good and the bad (nothing involving RPats and Tay Tay could ever be ugly).

So, in with the good: THE SOUNDTRACK IS GOING TO BE TWI-MAZING (too much?) and out with the bad: RPatz will NOT be serenading you into an obsess-icoma this time around – well, at least not musically. Not to worry though, while he may not be on the tracklist for the New Moon soundtrack, this dreamy fang boat will still be on the album cover. So all’s not completely lost, right?

Tracklist after the jump!

Death Cab for Cutie takes the full moon (I can’t help it) by landing the lead single for the film “Meet Me on the Equinox,” which leaked on YouTube earlier yesterday (where would I be without you, Tube?).

The soundtrack will also feature the sounds of Muse (who are gracing us with an exclusive remix!!!!), Radiohead’s Thom Yorke, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver (who duets with the rising gem, St. Vincent) and The Killers (crazy, right?).

For those of you who are wildly (of course you are) anticipating Thom Yorke’s vinyl-only release on Sept. 22, you’ll be happy to know that neither of the two songs featured on his new record, “Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses” and “Hollow Earth” are being used for the movie. Instead, he has recorded a new song, “Hearing Damage” for the soundtrack (talk about a triple whammy!!!!).

The New Moon soundtrack comes out Oct. 20, a month before the vamps hit the big screen. You know what that means? Yes, you can and will have every single word of the soundtrack memorized before the movie comes out. I know you twi-hards wouldn’t have it any other way! I mean, duh?!?
