Yep, sorry Miley, we want to LOL with you but unfortunately the masses wanted to see The Avengers instead. What exactly are we talking about? Miley Cyrus’ new movie LOL absolutely tanked at the box office, earning only $46,500 USD this weekend in an estimate made by the Movie City News. Released in only 104 theatres across America, the movie made only about $440 per theatre, substantially less than any other major release this weekend. Compared with The Avengers taking over $200 million in the box office, the LOL wasn’t exactly a party in the USA.

Okay, before all y’all Miley Cyrus fans cry out in despair, remember that how much a film pulls in theatres is not indicative of how good a movie is – in fact, LOL has cult hit written all over it: terrible reviews, a beautiful starlet, and probable funny one-liners (we say probable because … well, we didn’t see the film). And who sees movies in theatres anyways? We all know you’re going to be watching this film on your laptops soon enough. LOL is based off of a French film from 2008 of the same name.
