I’ve got to tell you about a new band. Like this is REALLY new and I’m finally able to talk about it. You’re getting in on the ground level, kids. The band is DreamFace. They’re from Edmonton, AB, and you might recognize that handsome face in silhouette. It’s my friend Dan Carriere, guitarist for Ten Second Epic! Dan’s been working on this music with his gorgeous partner in crime, Jasmine, for just over a year. I heard these tracks VERY early on and I was blown away. First of all, this is a far departure from TSE and I was surprised to hear this coming from Dan. It’s always incredible to hear other inspirations and things artists have floating around in their soul. In case you’re wondering, Dan and Jasmine are NOT a couple, but they would make an adorable one, right?!

The rest of the band members, Josh, Ryan, Allan, and Ben (from Edmonton’s Social Code) all fell into place over the last few months, and this project was kept top secret until just the right moment. They did play one under the radar showcase at The Drake in September during The Toronto International Film Festival, but they’re making their presence known worldwide today. Three tracks from an upcoming EP (being released in early 2011) are now available online and DF is getting you pumped with this sultry music video teaser. The song is called “Someone Else’s Hands” and the first time I heard it, I loved it. I think you will too. It’s straight up, smart, clever and catchy pop music. There’s a magical chemistry between these two that can’t be duplicated or fabricated. It just is. I’m sure this will be on MuchMusic in the near future, but in the mean time go listen to the tunes on MySpace, tweet about them @DreamFaceMusic and spread the love.
