Twi-hards, mark June 5th on your calendar as the day Stephenie Meyer releases her new novella.

Arriving just before Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits the screen, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse Novella will be in stores as of 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, June 5th.

As a nice gesture, one dollar from each sale will be donated to the Red Cross.

So what is this book? Who is Bree Tanner? Well, according to the official site, it is the “riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the newborn vampire world she inhabits. In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.”

On her website, Meyer said that she too was surprised about releasing this novella. The author writes that she “never intended to publish this story as a stand-alone book” and that the story came to her before Twilight was even released.
