In today’s installment of ‘What The Heck Did I Just Watch?’, Seinfeld’s Jason Alexander stars in Nickelback’s new video for Trying Not To Love You. To be clear, I went into this video with an open mind. Jason Alexander is one of comedy TV’s greatest actors and Nickelback make enough money to produce videos that look like the Olympic closing ceremonies. Win-win, right? No-no.

The video isn’t campy enough to be considered camp, it doesn’t have enough physical comedy to be a Three Stooges tributes video, and is an all-around waste of getting Jason Alexander to sign on for a cameo. Alexander stars as a barista who works his latte-designing skills in an attempt battle against his enemy (played by Alexander again) to win the affection of Brooke Burns. Burns, for her part, makes use of her teeny tiny bikini on top of coffee beans and lattes. Oh, the stuff adolescent dreams are made of.

But let’s get to the root of the issue. If you’re going to make George Costanza a barista then at least have him work at Tom’s Restaurant.
