Nicki Minaj might join American Idol

Let’s throw one more name into the rumour mill, shall we? We’ve spent all summer speculating who would be taking over the judges seats left by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler on the upcoming season of American Idol and guesses and rumours have ranged from Alanis Morissette to Nick Jonas, but reports are now saying that rapper Nicki Minaj is close to signing with the reality TV show.

“I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” one insider tells US Weekly. “A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”

So far, superstar diva Mariah Carey has been confirmed as a new judge on the show, which returns in January, but the other seats on the panel have been up in the air.
