Nicki Minaj writes her own fairytale in Va Va Voom

Nicki Minaj creates a mash up of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White in her latest video for Va Va Voom. Playing the damsel in distress, Nicki meets her knight at the beginning of the video, only to be killed (I assume) by an evil hunter. Asleep in her casket, Nicki then appears as the evil Queen, who speaks to the prince through a mirror. Oh, and she’s dressed as a horse for a few scenes. I’m not sure how that fits into either story.

Directed by Hype Williams, Nicki sports her signature brightly coloured wigs in the video, which consists of a number of elaborate fairytale sets. This is Minaj’s fourth time working with famed video director Williams, with the two previously collaborating on Stupid Hoe, Massive Attack and the unreleased Roman in Moscow.
