Update: Nicole Richie gives birth!

Nicole Richie has given birth to her second child.

Richie was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital earlier today, where she gave birth to a bouncing baby boy named… Sparrow James Midnight Madden. (Yes, that is the name.)

Richie has already reached out on her blog to make the announcement: “He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes,” she added.

This is the second child for Richie and her boyfriend Joel Madden: daughter Harlow was born last year.

ha ha sparrow really? Come on guys enough with the hippy names and stars really need to start finding professionals to pick out good names for their kids like check with a PR agent or something before you name your kid with all the thought of naming a pet. I will admit to thinking Nicolas Cage naming his kid Kal-El after Superman was pretty rad.
