Nichole Scherzinger is getting her own episode of VH1′s Behind The Music this Sunday, airing in the US at 9 pm ET on VH1, but a clip from the special has already surfaced online. In the footage, Scherzinger reveals what I thought was common knowledge and confirms that she sang ’95% of the Pussycat Dolls’ album. Um, we know? Pussycat Dolls producer Ron Fair appears in the special and confirms Scherzinger’s claims that she was placed in the centre of the five person girl group because she alone did the majority of the singing.
But seriously, didn’t we know this? Members of the group began voicing their frustrations before the group disbanded, complaining that the limelight was constantly placed on Scherzinger. The group rose to fame in 2005 with their break out hit Don’t Cha, with Nicole taking the lead in all of the band’s songs.
After claiming the other members of the Pussycat Dolls as her ‘sisters’, Nicole goes on to say “I hope I don’t get in trouble for the stuff that I say, but I’ll never forget I finished the album, PCD, and Ron (Fair) and I brought the girls into the studio and we played it for them. It was the first time they’d ever heard the music. Do you understand what I’m saying? We played the album for the Pussycat Dolls. It was the first time they’d ever heard the songs.” We understand. And while we all assumed that was the case, you’re still going to get in trouble.
