Nina Dobrev appeared on Chelsea Handler’s talk show Chelsea Lately this month to promote her new feature film The Perks Of Being A Wallflower. In addition to talking about her role in the Stephen Chbosky movie, Dobrev also shared her recent experience swimming with sharks.

Dobrev traveled to Bora Bora to swim with sharks, recounting her experience with the talk show host. “At first there’s an adrenaline rush. I’m equally as fascinated as I am terrified by them,” said The Vampire Diaries star. Dobrev spent time in the water with both Black Tip and Lemon sharks while visiting the French Polynesian island.

Dobrev also talked about her double role on The Vampire Diaries playing both Elena and Katherine. When asked whether it’s difficult to play the two roles, Nina said “it’s the most confusing whenever Katherine impersonates Elena and vice versa.” Let’s just take a moment and think about how awesome the show is going to be now that both women are vampires. I love an even playing field.

The Vampire Diaries returns with brand new episodes on Friday, October 12 at 8 pm ET.
