Nina Dobrev was on the red carpet this past weekend supporting her upcoming film The Perks of Being a Wallflower, in which she plays the teenage sister of the film’s protagonist. Dobrev took some time out from talking Perks to discuss the upcoming season of The Vampire Diaries and has promised lots of drama. “It’s not going to be easy,” Dobrev told E! on the red carpet at TIFF. “It’s a very character-driven season. It’s going to be really intense.”
Dobrev also talked about her characters transformation into a vampire during the final moments of Season 3, saying “Elena is a vampire now, so everything is heightened. If she steps on an ant and kills the ant, she freaks out and starts crying, or if somebody tells a joke, she starts laughing like a maniac. So all of her emotions are heightened.”
As usual, Dobrev was vague when it came to her character’s love triangle with the Salvatore brothers, pointing out that while Elena did chose Stefan at the end of Season 3, who Elena will ultimately end up with is uncertain. Team Delena for life.
Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries premieres on Friday, October 12 at 8 pm ET on MUCH.
