No Doubt, Taylor Swift and Muse are the first performers announced to take the stage at the 2012 MTV EMA. Hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum in her home country of Germany, this year’s awards show has Swift and pop super star Rihanna at the top of the pack for most nominations.
No Doubt, who released their first album in eleven years on September 25th, are more than excited to be playing the show, saying “The EMA is massive. Everyone is in top form. It’s going to be an amazing time and a chance for us to show to the world why we’re so proud of our new album. And it’s always awesome to do what we love most, which is play live. We’re really excited to be a part of it.”
Swift, whose new album Red drops later this month on October 22, is excited to play the MTV EMA for the first time at the historical Festhalle, saying “I’ve always wanted to go to the EMA, because you hear about the spectacle of it, and how everyone just goes all out for their performances. To be nominated for five EMAs was the most exciting feeling, and I was absolutely blown away. I can’t wait to be there this year and perform on the show!”
Swift is nominated for five MTV EMAs this year, including Best Female, Best Pop, Best Look, Best Live and Best World Stage. Muse, no strangers to the MTV EMA, are nominated for Best Live and Best Rock with No Doubt picking up a nomination for Best Pop.
The 2012 MTV EMA airs exclusively on MuchMusic on Sunday, November 11 at 8 pm ET.
