No more love connection for Katy Perry and John Mayer

We can put those rumours to rest: Katy Perry and John Mayer are no longer dating (if they were).

Sources tell People Magazine that the media made things out to be more serious than it was and that the pair will most likely remain friends.

“They’ll end up as friends,” the source tells the publication. “They were honestly having fun. People made it out to be far more than it was.”

Perry and Mayer were seen around together all summer at dinners and parties, but neither ever confirmed whether or not they were actually in a relationship with each other.

Oh, summer flings.
