As if winning multiple Olympic gold medals isn’t cool enough, self-proclaimed Vampire Diaries fanatic Gabby Douglas has now filmed a walk-on role on her favourite TV show. The 16 year-old American gymnast was on the Atlanta set of The Vampire Diaries yesterday to shoot her cameo, which will appear on an episode in late November.

The cast were busy tweeting their love for the young athlete, with Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder posing for pictures and Candice Accola tweeting “was such a joy meeting you and your family today! Keep shining!Come back to Mystic Falls anytime xo”. Kat Graham, who calls Gabby a personal inspiration, was in LA filming an interview with E! News, but sent a special video message to the Olympian through co-stars Dobrev and Accola.

The feelings of love between Douglas and The Vampire Diaries have been mutual for a long time, with the cast filming a message for Gabby and her fellow teammates during the London Olympics this summer after finding out Douglas was a fan of the show.

Season 4 of The Vampire Diaries begins Friday, October 12 at 8 pm ET on MUCH.
